Tynt - What's being copied from your site?

We have added Tynt insight to eVENALICIUM.com and were so impressed we had to share it with you. You may have heard of sites like Copyscape (a service that helps to protect your site from plagiarism), this is different. Tynt allows people to copy your content to share with others (with an automatic track back to the original source). This is very powerful and a huge insight into what content people find most engaging. Right now Tynt’s premium service is FREE – so we suggest you hop on over there and sign up for an account

How does Tynt work? Well it is very simple, once you set up your account and add the line of HTML onto your site, it’s installed. This means that whenever someone copies anything from your site, be that a sentence, a paragraph, title or image as soon as they paste it – in an email, share on Facebook/Twitter etc a link is automatically created linking back to the original source.

For example, below is some text we copied from a previous blog post:

Here is the pasted text with the generated link to the original post:

We live an alternative life compared to many people in our lives, with plans for the future very different from “the norm”.

Tynt comes with fantastic analytics so you can see which of your content is most popular and engaging to your readers. Even if your content is copied but not shared you will know about it – In your dashboard there is a great “Visualizer” which you can share on your site to show off the latest copied content in a slick widget. (Coming to this site soon, as currently you have to apply for it, but we will add it at a later date.
Tynt also has Twitter integration and tweets out your most engaging content every hour. Here is an example of one of the automatic tweets:

See for yourself, copy something from our site and paste it anywhere to see how it works. One of our favourite uses is by pasting content into Tweetdeck, which automatically shortens the URL then send out the info to Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn & MySpace. Or share with your friends or contacts via  email - However you use it Tynt works a treat! Let us know below what you think about Tynt and how you get on, we’d love to know! You can follow @Tynt on Twitter to keep up-to-date.
