We live an alternative life compared to many people in our lives, with plans for the future very different from “the norm”.

Via Social media we have been able to connect with a wonedrful community of like-minded people where our Location Independant, Digital Nomad, Home Schooling plans are  not so “way out”!

It is a breath of fresh air to connect with so many people who are very passioniate  about everything they do. Thank goodness for Social media channels like Twitter and Facebook!

“Marketing is a Tax You Pay for being Unremarkable”

This statement was made by Robert Stephens, Founder of Geek Squad at the Customer Service is the New Marketing Summit in 2008. What is your opinion? True or False? Depending on where you find yourself on the marketing food chain you could argue both opinions, but after alot of thought we can only agree.

If your product(s), service(s) or customer service is below standard and therefore your business is unremarkable no amount of good marketing will help to get you out of trouble and save your business.

The very statement itself,  so controversial at it’s core is a basic marketing strategy. Grabbing your attention, stirring your emotions and the “fear factor” towards tax would make any business owner sit up and listen in an instant. Auto Following on Twitter

Since i started tweeting in April 2008 I adored Twitter and have made some wonderful friends, connections and had some amazingly real, fun and meaningful conversations. I have personally connected with many of the top people in social media and count them more like friends than contacts. I’ve connected with people from many different industries, learnt so much about business, visited all sorts of fab websites I would never have known about otherwise and so much more – all in 140 characters or less! I loved it, Twitter was my number 1 social media site.

This was until recently, when I did things a bit differently – I have since realised that certain techniques were not serving me well… I was not connecting with tweeps in the same way I used to and finding I was drifting over to Facebook much more than before.
